We have a lot going on right now as we are part of a few events this summer, including performances at Harlingen Art Night, Pride in the Park, & the biggest one yet, Frida Fest in Edinburg, Texas. Along with these events this summer, we are planning to have a fundraiser/event soon, as we hope to attend & present at the Feminist & Rhetorics Conference in Jamestown Virginia. Thanks to the two lovely professors, Norma Dibrell & Alyssa Cavazos of UT-RGV, who have featured Mujer RGV in their Fem & Rhetorics class, we now have the ability to bring Mujer RGV & it's DIY Feminist movement to James Madison University! It is an honor just to feel like what were doing together is worth talking about, but to have the ability to present in an collegiate (aka fancy af) educational conference is amazing! More information on a fundraiser will be coming very soon! In the meantime please let us know if you have any ideas to raise money, if you'd like to present at a meeting, if you know someone willing to hire us as musicians or event planners, or if you'd like to join us in creating a positive female supporting female community don't hesitate to reach out! Mujer Rgvis project that I began to build a few years ago solely focused on building a community of female artists, entrepreneurs, & musicians in the Rio Grande Valley who wanted to support one another & help each other grow. Slowly but surely it's turned into my biggest venture yet, leading events, workshops, online discussions, & all kinds of projects. With the help of my community, Mujer Rgv helps ensure the females of our area have a successful future, however that may look for them. Archives
